Developed with Cory Johnston, the Party Minnow is a drop-shot bait that pairs a natural minnow profile with a responsive paddle tail. Light rod movements activate the body and tail while keeping the presentation near your target. Choose the 3-inch or 4-inch model to match the forage or adjust the size of your presentation.
01 Small Inputs. Active Tail.
A ribbed underside and tapered rear section lead into a small paddle tail. The flexible body bends with rod movement, while the tail responds to light shakes and changes in direction.
Introduce action with a subtle shake, then pause before moving the bait again. The minnow shape and detailed eyes complete the baitfish profile.
02 Put It to Work on a Drop Shot
Match your drop-shot hook to the bait size and nose-hook the minnow so the body and tail remain free to move. Adjust the distance between the hook and weight to position the bait above the bottom.
Use small rod movements to activate the bait without pulling the rig far from your target. Vary the strength of each shake and the length of your pauses based on how fish respond.
Present it beneath the boat or cast around deep structure and individual targets. With forward-facing sonar (FFS), watch the bait’s position relative to suspended bass and adjust your presentation as they move.
03 Choose Your Profile
Choose the compact model to match smaller baitfish or downsize around pressured bass and clear-water targets.
Step up for a larger baitfish silhouette while keeping the same drop-shot approach. Match the larger body with an appropriately sized hook.
04 Build Your Setup
Choose a drop-shot hook that fits your selected bait size, then match the weight to your depth, casting distance, and bottom conditions.
